Presenting fiction and documentary films, panel discussions and Q&As with filmmakers and major figures in the industry, Filmisreal exposes audiences in the Netherlands to different aspects of Israeli society as expressed in its multicultural cinema. It serves as a creative platform for contemporary Israeli filmmakers, passionately reflecting on and actively contributing to the most recent developments in Israeli cinema

Opening Film: INTIMATE GRAMMAR (2010),
directed by Nir Bergman This year’s opening film is
the hauntingly beautiful adaptation of David Grossman’s
acclaimed novel INTIMATE GRAMMAR. Director Nir
Bergman, two-time winner of the main prize at the Tokyo
International Film Festival (once for his debut feature
Broken Wings and now for this film - his second feature),
will be our special guest for screenings in Amsterdam on
April 6 and 9 and in The Hague on April 7.
INTIMATE GRAMMAR is part of one of the festival
